Wikis: Engaging Group Editing and Collaboration

A Wikiis a web page (or group of web pages) that allows any viewer to add or modify content. The owner may modify who is able to add or modify content, based on their personal preference. "Wiki" is a Hawaiian word for fast and it refers to the speed at which wiki content can be modified via their collaborative nature. Perhaps the most well-known wiki is Wikipedia, a web-based encyclopedia in which users can add or modify content, as traditional print encyclopedia contributors would. There are a number of web-based solutions for the creation of wikis, most of which rely on simple, template-based drag-and-drop software.
